Funeral services for Walter Carl Harper, 61, of Pittsburg, will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Tommy Oglesby officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Mr. Harper passed away October 19, 2019 at his home. Walter was born on May 27, 1958, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Virgil and Betty (Carter) Harper. He attended Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, Texas and served in the U.S. Army after graduation. He retired after working as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, staying in touch with old friends and attending church at South Jefferson Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Donna Adams Harper of Pittsburg; daughter, Karla Bell and husband, Scott, of Marina, CA; son, Keith Harper of San Antonio; daughter, Elissa Quinn and husband, Lloyd of Pittsburg; sister, Virginia Cole (Danny); brother, Wayne Harper (Sharon); sister, Jeanna Harper; brother, Michael McCormick; grandchildren, Matthew, Hannah, Adam, and Jacob Bell; Connor, Landon, Tucker, and Emersyn Quinn; mother-in-law, Ottie Dollins; step- mother-in-law, Linda Adams; sister-in-law, Diana Adams; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Harper and Betty McCormick; stepfather, David McCormick; father-in-law, Donald Adams. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg.
