Alicia Perez (Perez) Zamora

Alicia Perez Zamora, age 78, passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Services will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pittsburg on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 3:00 pm, with Father Juan Carlos officiating. The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Erman Smith Funeral Home.

Ms. Zamora was born on April 28, 1944, in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Francisco Perez and Rosantina Trevino. Alicia and her late husband of 50 years, Juan Zamora, were long-time residents of Pittsburg, where they raised their five children. She spent over 20 years as a Pilgrim’s Pride employee before she retired and spent the remainder of her days surrounded by friends and family. Ms. Zamora was of the Catholic faith and a devoted member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pittsburg. Of all her accomplishments in life, Alicia was most proud of her family. She found joy in hosting and cooking for their family gatherings, where she would enjoy one-on-one time with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When she had a spare moment of time, Alicia indulged in crossword puzzles and watching the news.

Alicia is survived by her two sons, Juan Zamora Jr. and Edgar Zamora; daughters, Gloria Zamora, Irma Patricia Zamora, and Claudia Salinas; brothers, Alfredo Perez and Juan Perez; sisters, Olga Suarez and Rosantina Perez; grandchildren, Cynthia Cruz, Denise Kirkpatrick, Berenice Lopez, Christian Rodriguez, Ramiro Cruz Jr., Alex Salinas Jr., Nicole Chavez, Crystal Zamora, Edgar Zamora Jr., Jonathan Zamora, Apollo Zamora, and Cytlalli Zamora; great-grandchildren, Ethan Cruz, Angel Cruz, Anabella Kirkpatrick, Adrian Kirkpatrick, Aaden Lopez, Mila Lopez, Mateo Lopez, Kaylee Cruz, Vaelin Cruz, Alessa Salinas, Elliot Salinas, Abigail Chavez, and Andres Chavez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Zamora; parents, Francisco Perez and Rosantina Perez; and her great-grandchild, Zachary Cruz.
