Dr. Ted Trimble Obituary

Memorial services for Dr. Ted Dawson Trimble, 65, of Pittsburg will be 2;00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg with Reverend Scott Darby officiating.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.  Dr. Trimble passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, in a Pittsburg hospital.

Ted Dawson Trimble was born on July 5, 1956 in Wylie, Texas to Dr. Terrell Marshal Trimble and Judy Lindenmeyer Trimble.  He was a graduate of Wylie High School.  He attended Oral Roberts University from 1974 to 1978 and the Oral Roberts University Medical School from 1978 to 1982.  Dr. Trimble attended residency at In His IMAGE Family Practice Residency in Tulsa, OK from 1982 to 1985.  This is a Christian Family Medicine Program where physicians are trained in state-of-the-art family medicine and medical missions and are also ordained at graduation as well.  He then went to practice family medicine with his father in Wylie, TX from 1985 to 1998.  In 1998, Ted returned to Tulsa to teach and practice medicine at In His IMAGE Family Practice Residency.  The interns and young resident physicians loved to have Dr. Ted Trimble supervising them as he was hands on and taught them to share the love of Christ with all patients they encountered.  In 2002, Ted moved to Pittsburg and started the ETMC First Physicians Clinic with his friend and former resident Dr. Rodney Burrow.  He practiced at ETMC until 2011.  Since 2011, he worked at the Mexia State Supported Living Center, Good Shepherd Medical Center in Linden, and the PhyNet Clinic in Linden before joining Titus Regional Medical Center in 2018 and working at the Family Care Center of Daingerfield.

Ted met the love of his life, Gretchen Richards, at age 4 and they married on May 22, 1976.  They had five children: James Trimble of Oregon, Tyler and Rachel Trimble of Pittsburg, Sarah Trimble of Pittsburg, Rebekah and Eric Strube of Pittsburg, and Melissa Trimble of Plano.  Their six grandchildren are Ezekiel James Trimble, Gretchen Nancy Trimble, Lucy Jayne Trimble, Jocie Strube, Mario Zakrajsek, and Isabela Gatewood.

Dr. Ted Trimble loved GOD, his family, his church, his community, his co-workers, and his patients.  Francis of Assisi is attributed with saying “Preach the Gospel at all times and if necessary, use words,” and this described Ted’s whole being.  Dr. Trimble showed GOD’s love to all people in a non-judgmental way.  In the 25th chapter of Matthew, Jesus said: “When you do it to the least of these, you have done it for me.”  Ted was called home to Heaven on October 8, 2021.  He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and patients.  We have comfort in knowing that he is with his LORD and Savior that he loved so much.  2 Timothy 4:7 states: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Ted was preceded in death by his parents: Dr. TM and Judy Trimble, father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Nancy Richards, and brother-in-law: Carle David Hunt.  He is survived by his wife and children as well as three brothers: Terry and wife Sheila of Colorado, Chuck and wife Tena of Colorado, and John Paul and his wife Bebe of Colorado. He is also survived by two sisters: Carrie Rothones and husband Mike, Moie Ruth Todd and husband David as well as three sisters in law: Georgann Hunt, Guylyn and husband Jack Peel, Gina and husband Melvin McNeal. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to: In His Image International with a note for Dr. Trimble Memorial Fund.  PO box 1191, Tulsa, OK 74101 or www.give2ihii.org

Donations may also be made to Pittsburg First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, Texas to bless the Children’s Department in honor of Dr. Ted Trimble.

No formal visitation is scheduled.
