Gene Taylor Snead
Obituary
Gene Taylor Snead, 78, of Wylie, TX was born in Pittsburg, TX on August 8, 1944, to Stanley King and Mary Jo Tillery Snead. Mr. Snead passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at his residence.
He was a retired Facilities Engineer and a member of the Northplace Church in Sachse, TX. He loved spending time with family, watching old movies, doing crossword puzzles, and talking about old cars.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella Lynn Dowdy Snead; daughters, Dana Jo Johnson, Wendy Ann Edwards, and Kelly Joan Coffman; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Snead and Marcy were married one week short of 47 years.
Services will be held and the Erman Smith Funeral Home and Chapel in Pittsburg, TX on Monday, November 28, 2022. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2022. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Reverend Jeff Dungan officiating. Interment will be at the New Mine Cemetery, 1338 FM 1519, Pittsburg, TX. All arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home, 315 Rusk St., Pittsburg, TX.
The family would like the thank all the wonderful staff at Precise Personalized Care Hospice and especially his 2 caregivers, Lori Dowdle and Justin Chandler.
