Jimmy Wayne Watson

Celebration of Life service for Jimmy Wayne Watson, 72, of Pittsburg will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Pittsburg High School Auditorium with Reverend Kyle Smith and Dr. Dan Goad officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Watson passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Pittsburg.

Mr. Watson was born March 10, 1949, in Jefferson, TX to Alton Davis Watson and Emma Hazel Reid Watson. He was a lifelong educator, having taught History for over 38 years at Pittsburg Independent School District and was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by three cousins, Jean Fincher, Maxine Clayton, and Ruby Wilburn and a community of former students, colleagues, and friends who cherished him.

Mr. Watson is preceded in death by his parents, Alton Davis Watson and Emma Hazel Watson.

Visitation will be open to the community from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at Erman Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pittsburg High School, the American Cancer Society, or a charitable donation of personal choice.
