Graveside Service for Joe Horace DeFratus, Jr., 66, of Seagoville, TX will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021, at Maple Springs Cemetery in Leesburg, TX-Camp County with Reverend Chris Gabaldon officiating.  Interment will be at Maple Springs Cemetery in Leesburg, TX.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg, TX.

Joe DeFratus, Jr., passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at his residence.

Joe DeFratus, Jr., was born January 6, 1955, in Dallas, TX to Joe Horace DeFratus, Sr. and Darline Palmer DeFratus.  He was a True Believer in Jesus Christ. Joe grew up on a 150 acre Farm in Ben Wheeler, TX.  He Married the “Love of His Life Cheryl DeFratus” on March 1st 1991 and was a Talented Brick Mason by Trade. A Loving Husband and Daddy. He enjoyed long days with his grandchildren playing. If you knew him he would run to a pond with his two fishing poles and catch every fish. Joe knew how to live life to the fullest, laughter wasn’t very far from any conversation you had with him. Traveling was special to him, camping, road trips with his wife Cheryl and kids to Colorado. He loved the mountains but not the cold. What a Life He Lived in Simplicity, Love and Peace.

He is survived by his Wife Cheryl DeFratus; Daughters Cristina Owen, Brandy Rosenberry and Maegan Reid; Mother Darline Abel; and Four Grandchildren Corey Rosenberry, Isabella Rosenberry, Carson Owen, and Mitchell Owen; Brother Brian Cameron; Sisters Cathy Craig, Jalinea Pirtle, and Gala Bates.

Joe DeFratus, Jr., was preceded in death by his father, Joe Horace DeFratus, Sr.
