Obituary
Graveside services for Laverne Carpenter Strube, 95, of Pittsburg will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Matinburg Cemetery with Chaplin Yanckton Hatten officiating. Interment will be in the Matinburg Cemetery in Camp County. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Strube passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, in a Pittsburg nursing home.
Mrs. Strube was born August 26, 1927, in Camp County to Elvie and Carrie Martin Carpenter. She was a retired schoolteacher, lifelong resident of Camp County, and a member of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Strube is survived by her sons, Jimmy Strube and wife, Judy of Pittsburg, Ray Strube and wife, Jan of Mt Pleasant and Martin (Marty) Strube of Pittsburg, daughters, Tracy Holcomb of Azle, and Janie James of Pittsburg; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Royce Harper Strube and parents, Elvie and Carrie Carpenter.
Pallbearers will be Mark Strube, Patrick Young, Bradley Strube, Eric Strube, Joshua Folmar, and Ramsey Strube.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
