Nathan Davis Obituary

Mr. Nathan Eugene "Gene"  Davis, age 79, of Pittsburg, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 in Tyler. He was born June 26, 1941 to Travis and Vivian Alexander Davis in Camp County.

He worked as a Security Guard for Lone Star Steel for 38 years and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Upshur County.

He is survived by his son, Melvin Davis and Brandi Arrington, daughter, Melisa Martin Baggett and husband Mark, grandchildren, Jenna Long and husband Mitch, Jacob Martin and wife Emilly, great-grandchildren, Hayden Railsback-Cox, Payslee Long, and Lauren Martin, niece, Amy Massey and husband Greg, and great-nephew, Brayden Givens.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hooper Davis, his parents, sister, Janet Disman and brother-in-law, Mark Disman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00A.M., Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating, pallbearers will be Jacob Martin, Mitch Long, Tilman Davis, Greg Morris, Brayden Givens and Jonathan Davis with interment to follow at Piney Grove Cemetery in Upshur County. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Thomas, Clifford Watson, Percy Johnson, Leon Cummings, Charlie Richardson, Russell Davis, Ronnie Davis, and Hayden Railsback-Cox. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 A.M.
