Vernon Leon "Sonny" Gunn

Funeral services for Vernon Leon “Sonny” Gunn, 91, of Pittsburg, TX will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2020 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clint Davis officiating.  Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Camp County.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.  Mr. Gunn passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Gunn was born March 6, 1929 in Shreveport LA., to Vernon Arthur and Cleo Bell Collins Gunn.  He was retired from Pilgrims, a veteran of the United States Air Force, member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

He is survived by his wife, Beth Gunn; son, Greg Gunn and wife, Kelly of Pittsburg; daughter, Janet Pennington and husband, Joe of Plano; stepdaughters, Theresa Jennings and husband, John of Pittsburg, Rena Graham and husband, Keith of Pittsburg and Carol Sims and husband, Keith of Longview; grandchildren Toby Shelton and wife, Kandy, Todd Gunn, and Amanda Gunn; three great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Rich of Ft. Worth; brother-in-law, Jody Griffith and wife, Fran of Pittsburg.

Mr. Gunn is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Billy Gunn, Roy Gunn, Richard Gunn and sisters, Eulla Dell Gunn and Mary Stevens.

Pallbearers will be members of the Pittsburg Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2020 in Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
